    Why We Do It

    WHY WE DO IT

    Leaf

    Because we love our kids!
True, but there is even more to it than that! Any living and breathing person or animal in your home deserves to be toxin free.

We all know about the problems with our outside air, especially if you live in a major metropolitan area, but did you know that we spend 90% of our lives indoors? Our homes and offices are being built to be more and more efficient... meaning more insulated from air transfer from outside/in or inside/out. Sounds good, if the air outside is worse than the inside air, but EPA studies have found that pollutant levels inside the average home are two to five times higher than out doors.

Why is the indoor air so bad? Here is a list of five main causes of indoor pollution:

    1. The chemicals used to clean and maintain our homes.
    2. The materials used to build our homes.
    3. Modern home construction focused upon eliminating outdoor/indoor air transfer.
    4. Furnaces, hotwater heaters, gas stoves, etc.
    5. Heavy outdoor pollution that comes into your home.

    Back to our children!

Our kids are exposed to more toxins per pound of body weight than adults... They eat, drink, and breath more for their size than adults. Also, they most likely spend more time on the floor of your home than you do! In addition, children often put their hands and other objects into their mouths, increasing the opportunity for chemical exposure.
